Prepayment Charges

The prepayment penalties are charged when the debtor makes a partial or full payment of the debt before its maturity period. The prepayment penalty covers the cost to the lender for an early closure of the loan. All loans do not carry prepayment penalties; hence it is advisable to scrutinize the contract terms before proceeding.
